Bible Study Returns to Nativity!
Has the last year been a struggle for you or your family? This Fall our Bible Study group will delve into the Book of Job to see how a man who is overwhelmed by suffering deals with this suffering. Our new Parochial Vicar, Fr. Michael Johnson, has agreed to be our facilitator.
The program will run for 7 weeks on consecutive Tuesdays at 6:30 PM starting 9/21/21. This is a great opportunity to enrich your Faith while forming friendships with fellow parishioners.
The book of Job tells the story of a righteous man. God praises Job to Satan, who vehemently asserts that Job is only righteous because God has blessed him in every way. Take away his blessings, Satan claims, and Job will curse God. This story speaks eloquently of the mystery of human suffering. Listen to God’s Word in the midst of pain.
For more information or to sign up, please call Melissa Potzler or Sue McDonough at the Parish office (662-9339) prior to 8/30/21.
NATIVITY OFFERS LECTIO DIVINA
The Gospel for the following Sunday is read meditatively, and the following are then explored: a word or phrase that attracts you; how and where the content of this reading touches your life today; what you believe that God wants you to do during this coming week (month, year, lifetime).
If you would like to be a part of Lectio Divina at Nativity, please email Melissa at email@example.com or call 662-9339 ext 145.
JOIN US FOR THE ROSARY
One of our most powerful weapons is the Rosary. It is not enough to carry the Rosary in your purse or pocket or have it sitting around the house or hanging from the rearview mirror of your car. We need to say it, and it can be more comforting and powerful when said in a group. Think about joining us in the Adoration Chapel on Mondays from 10am to 11am. Everyone is welcome. If you have any questions, please call Kathy at 667-3173.
On most Fridays at 6pm, the Rosary is also prayed in the church. Join us!
Haiti Gift Card Fundraiser
We raise funds for our twin parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Coq Chante, Haiti by selling gift cards. Without sufficient funding, the continued operation of the medical clinic at our twin parish is in jeopardy. The medical clinic provides the only available healthcare in Coq Chante and its continued operation is critical for the health of the people. The suggested donation per Healthcare gift card is $50 but any donation amount per card is most welcome. There are blank cards that can be used for any occasion. Please consider stocking up on blank cards to use throughout the year for birthdays, graduations and many other occasions. Cards are located in Nativity church’s narthex.
To donate, click on “online giving” at the top right of this page, or pick up an order form in the narthex of the church.
FIRST FRIDAY DEVOTION
Please join us on First Friday at 6pm as Fr. Peter leads us in First Friday Benediction before the Blessed Sacrament in the church. Holidays and other events may affect this schedule. Please call the church office at 662-9339 to check.
On most other Fridays at 6pm, the Rosary is prayed in the church. Join us!
